What is a corporate investigation?

A corporate investigation is a fact-finding assignment commissioned by an organisation to establish what happened, who was involved and what evidence exists — for example in a suspected fraud, a misconduct allegation, a supplier dispute or before litigation.

We gather and organise lawfully obtained evidence so that your leadership, counsel or the authorities can decide what to do next.

What we investigate

Six areas of corporate risk.

Each assignment is scoped around a defined question, a lawful purpose and a proportionate method.

Fraud & misconduct

Procurement fraud, kickbacks, conflicts of interest, expense abuse and asset misappropriation.

  • Chronology and loss analysis
  • Document and records review
  • Interview planning support

Third-party & supply-chain risk

Integrity checks on distributors, agents, suppliers and JV partners, including hidden ownership and related-party links.

  • Ownership and control mapping
  • Sanctions and trade-exposure review
  • Red-flag reporting for ABC programmes

Asset tracing

Identify companies, property and other assets connected to a subject, to support recovery or enforcement led by counsel.

  • Corporate and property records
  • Cross-border ownership links
  • Evidence schedule for counsel

Litigation & dispute support

Background research on counterparties, witnesses and experts, and fact development for claims and defences.

  • Counterparty profiling
  • Chronologies and exhibit manifests
  • Witness-statement drafting support

Pre-deal integrity due diligence

Reputation, track-record and integrity research on targets, founders and management ahead of M&A or investment.

  • Management background research
  • Undisclosed interests and disputes
  • Links to DD products

Digital & crypto-asset fraud

Business email compromise, payment redirection and cryptocurrency fraud involving the organisation.

Lawful boundaries

Evidence that survives scrutiny.

Unlawfully obtained information can harm your case, your reputation and the people involved. These boundaries are part of every engagement letter.

Our approach

Proportionate, documented, reviewable.

We separate what is established from what is alleged, inferred or still unknown — and we record how each fact was obtained.

Evidence file Every step adds a documented, reviewable layer.

  1. 01

    Define the question

Agree the facts in issue, the lawful purpose, the jurisdictions and what a useful answer looks like.

  2. 02

    Approve the methods

Each method is checked against the laws of the jurisdiction where it will be used before any work begins.

  3. 03

    Gather & preserve

Evidence is captured with its source, date and chain of custody, and secured against alteration.

  4. 04

    Analyse & test

We test findings against contradictory and exculpatory evidence, and seek later developments.

  5. 05

    Report & brief

A reviewed findings report, chronology and exhibit manifest — with facts, hearsay, inference and opinion clearly distinguished.

Investigations FAQ

Before you instruct us.

Speak to us early. Preserving evidence correctly at the start often matters more than anything that follows.

Call +65 8683 8638
Can you investigate suspected fraud inside our company?

Yes. We investigate procurement fraud, kickbacks, conflicts of interest and asset misappropriation, working with management, the board or external counsel, and using only lawful methods and records the organisation is entitled to access.

Should our lawyers instruct you?

Where legal privilege, litigation or regulatory reporting may be involved, we generally recommend that counsel instructs us directly and sets the protocols for communication and evidence handling.

Do you conduct surveillance?

Only where it is lawful in the relevant jurisdiction, proportionate, specifically approved for the matter and carried out by appropriately licensed or authorised personnel. Many matters do not need it.

Can you work outside Singapore?

Yes, across Southeast Asia. Our Singapore licence does not by itself authorise activity abroad, so we confirm the local legal position and engage vetted, appropriately authorised local partners where needed.

Will the subject know they are being investigated?

Investigations are conducted discreetly. We do not disclose client identity to subjects, and we never use deception to obtain protected personal data. Some jurisdictions give individuals rights to request information, which we handle as the law requires.

Confidential from the first call.

Describe the concern in general terms. We will run a conflict check before you share any detail about the people involved.
